SUMMARY:Shreveport ReEntry Simulation: From Cell Block to City Block
DESCRIPTION:Walk in the shoes of someone returning home from incarceration! Gaining understanding of the significant obstacles faced by this population will provide invaluable insight to those of us that are\ntasked with helping them succeed. \nThis 2-hour interactive training provides you the opportunity to walk in the shoes of someone returning home from incarceration and allows you to experience the stress\, overwhelm\, and struggle that justice-impacted individuals face. We hope you will gain understanding of the significant obstacles faced by this population and valuable insight that will help you assist them while they acclimate back into the community. The goal of our coalition is to reduce recidivism\, prevent crime\, improve public safety\, and provide opportunities for justice-impacted individuals to succeed. \n  \nThe Reentry Simulation will take place on Thursday\, October 15th from 1pm-3pm at First Methodist Church Shreveport. \n  \nIf you have not participated in previous simulations\, I encourage you to register to attend. Please also forward this email to your supervisors and up the chain so that we can offer this opportunity to all local leadership\, hiring managers\, case managers\, and others who work with\, or influence\, the justice-involved population.
