Understanding Fair Chance Employment

Having a hard time finding a job with your record?  There’s a few things to know which will help when you are dealing with potential employers. Louisiana is an “at will” employment state. This means that
a person can be fired or not hired for many reasons or no reason at all, but it is important to apply for jobs you are interested in, have a passion for, and are qualified for. Dress your best, use your manners, do your research about the employer, and prepare for interview questions. Think about why you would be a good fit for this job and the benefits to the employer.  Employers make mistakes and you have rights.  Know them to protect them!

Thanks to the Justice Accountability Center, here is a guidebook to help you understand these rights.
