DESCRIPTION:The CAPRI Second Chance Employment Team meets on the first Tuesday of every month\, bringing together one of the largest and most action-driven workgroups in the Capital Area. With one in three Louisianans having some type of a record\, this team leads one of the most critical missions in our community\, connecting returning citizens to meaningful employment and sustainable career pathways. \nWe partner with employers ready to strengthen their workforce and make a lasting impact. Members gain insight into effective hiring strategies\, local workforce trends\, and valuable incentives that support second chance employment. \nThrough this collaborative network\, you’ll learn how to access untapped talent\, improve retention\, and utilize programs such as Federal Bonding\, the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)\, Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)\, On-the-Job Training (OJT)\, and Incumbent Worker Training. \nJoin us to be part of a solution that benefits businesses\, individuals\, and the entire community. All at the same time\, same place every month in one welcoming\, judgment-free space. \nSecond Chance Tuesday is about reducing recidivism\, strengthening families\, and proving that everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed. DESCRIPTION:The CAPRI Housing Workgroup meets every third Wednesday of the month virtually\, bringing together community housing providers and partners to address one of the greatest barriers to successful ReEntry\, safe and stable housing. This collaborative team works to identify solutions\, share resources\, and expand housing opportunities for returning citizens across the Capital Area. \nThe housing team is essential to reducing recidivism. We are building a responsive housing pipeline that includes property owners\, landlords\, leasing agents\, housing assistance providers\, first-time homebuyer representatives\, emergency and transitional housing options\, shelters\, and sober living programs. We are looking for individuals interested in building pathways to stability\, reducing homelessness\, shaping policy\, building new partnerships\, and supporting long-term success for formerly incarcerated. \nTogether\, we are breaking down barriers and building bridges to safe\, secure\, and supportive housing\, the foundation of successful ReEntry.
